Understanding Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Every industry has a milestone, and construction’s just passed one – a pretty sizable one in fact.

Since the start of April 2016 all centrally procured government construction projects, no matter what their size, must be delivered using BIM – or to give the acronym it’s full title, Building Information Modelling.

And as we’ve found out, it seems many have already embraced BIM while others have been slower to adopt.

But what is BIM?

We recently asked that very question to Dr Noha Saleeb from Middlesex University, and spoke to Jim Bell from Arup, who’ve been using BIM in the field for years now.
