Thomas Cook: The role of IT in travel

Life doesn’t offer many guarantees, but one thing we can be sure of is that Brits will always demand a summer holiday; a tradition going back to the days of Queen Victoria.

But whether it’s a fortnight in the sun or a seven-day trek across the Himalayas, what’s the role of IT in delivering you your ideal break?

We were lucky enough to meet up with Alan French, IT Director at Thomas Cook, to try and find out. Thomas Cook, the second largest travel company in Europe, has over thirty-two thousand employees providing two million customers with their holidays every year.

And our first question to Alan was asking him to explain the challenges his industry’s facing in the digital age.
