The University Challenge: Innovating with cloud technology

You don’t need a degree to know technology is changing the way students are learning these days, but what’s life like inside our universities for the IT leaders trying to keep up?

We went to UCISA16 to find out about the top of mind themes, and challenges, facing those responsible for delivering IT services to University students.

Demand for innovation is high, competition between universities is intensifying, and fee-paying students have higher expectations – as Adrian Ellison, IT Director at the University of West London puts it: “Students are always two steps ahead of whatever I’m trying to do and they will always find the best online resource to achieve what they want to.”

Neil Randall from Southampton Solent University adds: “We should make our applications and services look like the kind of digital media experience the students already have.”

So, what is the university challenge for IT leaders in 2016 and how can they stay one, or even two steps ahead? Watch our UCISA16 recap video to find out.
